About Metro Athletic Network

The Metro Athletic Network (M.A N.) seeks to

 prevent childhood obesity and protect at risk youth by

 providing opportunities for participation in youth

 athletics.  We promote healthy lifestyles and provide

 positive alternatives for youth by sponsoring programs

 and activities that foster athletic development,

promote positive character development,

 and promote the ideas of teamwork and hard work.

In addition to directly providing programs and services,

 the Metro Athletic Network seeks to develop strategic

 alliances within the community and with other

 organizations and individuals who share our concern

 for youth.

 - 2007

Metro Youth Flag Football Association (MYFFA)

2007 was the naugural season of the Metro Youth Flag

Football Association.  We are pleased to continue and

grow in 2008. The flag football league will provide

 a positive environment for youth ages 5-14

 (boys and girls) to participate in team athletics.

Metro Athletic Network Highlights - 2006

Youth Scholarships

In 2006, the Metro Athletic Network was able to provide

 approximately $3,000 in youth athletic scholarships.

 These scholarships were provided to local youth football

 associations and helped to make the dream of playing

 football a reality for approximately 30 at risk youth.

National Youth Sports Coaching

Association (NYSCA)

In 2006, the Metro Athletic Network was designated as

 a local NYSCA chapter and conducted its initial

training clinics.   Through our partnership with the

 World Youth Football League we were able to provide

 training and/or league certification for over 100

 coaches.

Atlanta Falcons Youth Football Camp

Over 50 youth participated in the 2006 Atlanta Falcons

 Youth Football Camp in Lithonia as a result of

 registration efforts of the Metro Athletic Network.
